Med student here, gonna break this one down really simply.

Hair greasiness is different for everyone, but race narrows it down pretty well. Black/SouthAsian/Darker Skin tones tend to not have greasy hair (over thousands of years their skin and hair have adapted to harsh heat/humidity). These people should shampoo extremely rarely if at all.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, Caucasian and Asian hair has adapted to cold weather over thousands of years and is prone to becoming greasier in warm climates.

There is no hard and fast rule to how often you should wash your hair, but I recommend skipping for a week and seeing what happens.
