Lately I've been listening to this masterpiece a lot.

Right now I'm listening to Giles Corey.

>no motivation to succeed
>can't pay attention to things that don't interest me

This has given cause to a few suicide attempts for me last year during the school year. Starting my second year at a local community college soon. I hope I either something changes, or I don't wake up in a hospital this time.

>no one is going to threaten your life for no reason, that is paranoia talking. that kind of shit only happens in horror films. people who try to mug you want one thing: your money. they made a calculated decision that the risk of possible physical repercussions/legal repercussions was worth getting your empty ass wallet. they are fucking pathetically desperate.
sometimes their only reason for wanting to mug you is to steal your shit. when a criminal is "pathetically desparate," then they've already gone to threatening you with a shank for taking your phone and wallet?

>the intelligent decision would be to just give it to them so they leave as soon as possible. brandishing a firearm would only escalate the situation and increase the chances of things getting violent for you or for them.
like i said, somebody simply wanting my wallet isn't going to get a bullet at all, but if he does it with the intention of harming me if i don't just give it to him, why would i just leave it up to the mugger to decide what his own next course of action is?

>sure it feels good to close your eyes and think about a possible situation where someone trys to steal your shit, and you pull out a gun and shoot them. vigilante justice feels good. but it is immoral and in reality the responsibility of escalation of force would be in your hands.
yeah. de-escalation is something a lot of people who carry guns just don't understand. the guns are pretty much there to fall back on when all else has pretty much failed, including talking the criminal out of a crime or just giving the person all my shit (i give him the wallet, but he decides to beat, rape or kill me after for example)

if this is not enough to convince you of why people carry guns then i don't know what will. pic related, have a nice life, if you don't get beaten or mugged to death when have incorrectly deduced that any violent criminal ever is going to fuck off after taking your fashionable wallet and iphone 6 from you.
