i wear suede loafers with jeans and t in summer
and i wear regular loafers with basically anything. you really can pair them with anything, currently wearing them with burgundy argyle socks, lightwash jeans, untucked shirt. theyre my new catch all shoes
still, that doesnt mean i dont wear them with chinos and a tucked shirt

Have about 9 pairs but really wear penny loafers 99% of the time in any type of outfit cus theyre so fucking based

I don't think they look good anymore. I've seen so many fits where the outfit is good and then it is finished off with some lazy ass plain white sneakers. It's just so tiresome. It's always one of the same pair of 6 or so sneaker models too.
Often they look so out of place too, instagram faggots are especially guilty in this. Some good outfit in a vintage genre then they wear fucking vans or air force 1s under them, looks so awful and out of place. I used to just think outfits with sneakers were boring, now due to oversaturation I think they're actively bad.
Shoes really set a tone of an outfit and wearing sneakers just sets the tone of lazy.
They're slowly starting to become the graphic t-shirt of footwear.

recently I've been following Alain Delon's advice, you can wear the most basic outfit on earth but if you wear some nice leather shoes under it it will instantly look 10 times better.
