To clarify the spring drive debate, there are 3 major areas where a watch can be either electronic or mechanical:
>power source
>regulation
>power delivery

A mecaquartz chrono for example is powered by a battery and is regulated by a quartz crystal, but the hands are moved by a gear train instead of being directly driven by a stepper motor so we see fit to make a distinction.
