Trends come and go, but saying that zoomers are responsible for mid thigh and above men's shorts is ridiculous. Men have been wearing "short shorts" since the fifties (minimum). This thread is full of examples. And here's another: rugby players have worn them and keep wearing them (although they've gotten slightly longer as of recent decades. You can still buy traditional length though). Soccer and basketball players used to wear them too, but they pussied out of that (functional?) style for some reason.
