One thing I've picked up over the years is that a good leather strap is worth the investment. Wearing something like calfskin or Horween compared to cheap "genuine leather" stuff is night and day, both in comfort and looks. Shell cordovan is a decent middle ground. Typically this stuff is a buy once, cry once venture. If you're going to be wearing the watch for many years to come, taking a little hit up front on the strap is not too big of a deal.

I'd like to see a dark brown leather on it personally. Not the thin and shiny dressy type but a thicker matte like some Horween.
