I've been lucky; it's the same spec as it was when I first got it (i.e. nothing has changed). I set it either on my birthday or on New Years Eve, and only adjust the hour for DST (it has an independent-set hour hand for the first pull-out position of the crown). I really love that watch; the design is perfect.

I like the variety that I can get with all of these conglomerates. It's not that every design is a winner, but that at least we have something to choose from that is not limited to the heavy hitters all the time. There was a time when the only way to know what was out was to get a catalogue from the manufacturer, and even then there was no certainty that you could get the watch you want. Now we have so many manufacturers competing hard for your money, so there's a lot of 'playing it safe' with designs as well as 'taking a risk'. We live in a remarkable time for watches, because there really is something for everyone. Anyway, that's how I see it.

The other day I tried on the BlancpainXSwatch in person....it feels as light as the MoonSwatch. Fun stuff, but it cemented the fact that the fifty-fathoms general design looks awful on my wrist.

Yeah; they do this with all hesalite crystals, but the logo shape changes depending on the generation of crystal. The problem with the Grail is that they only have 2 crystals that fit, and 1 of them is original and the other is the factory replacement. Sadly, the factory replacement has gaps between the minute markers printed on the dial and the subsecond markers that are printed on the underside of the crystal. That gap tells you that the crystal has been replaced. I'm very lucky to have one that is fully original.
