The German like every other European army had a long tradition with many army tailors. All sorts of uniforms and it was really important to look professional.

Yes some looked bad but even the basic soldat often went to military tailors to tailor his blouse.

The M33 and then m36 were actually tested Infront of young women.

European people as a whole pay more respect to style, tailoring g and fashion than americans which looked like potato sacks in their cotton combat fatigues.
