Yep, bought a vintage Omega Geneve about 13 years ago for £200 when I suddenly decided I was 'into watches' because 'gold dress watch = classy'.

Jumped into a pool with it about 6 months later and it washed all of the dial markers and text off, and eventually the crown fell off. Replacing the watch with something more durable & modern thereafter is when I actually learnt about watches.
