You're schooling in the Loop. I'm assuming Columbia?

Anyway, the Loop is where lawyers, doctors, and business people go during the day to work. You'll see them, and tourists. Fashion just isn't a thing there. The Loop is also dead at night.

The neighborhoods are where Chicagoans actually live. You'll see a fashion scene in the trendier areas, but Chicago is still very midwestern. The fashion there is at least a year or two behind.

Wicker Park is what most people think of as the hip area (basically over the hill in terms of gentrification). I'd recommend Logan Square, or Pilsen.
