I don't mind the shitposting as long as it's fun and fresh. Watch threads have great potential for memes (tons of watches to make fun of, some weird brand marketing strategies, celebrities wearing watches, etc), but people just got lazy and keep posting the same 5 shitty memes in every threads.
I think it's because /fa/ is such a terrible board. We should move watch threads to /tv/, it's fun there.
