I was divided between the packer and the rancher. I am in the Southwest so trails are hard and flat.

Look. I went to White's when that was on the front page. See above, it managed to fit right between the packer and rancher for what I wanted. 4811 has higher arch than the packer's 690, but is lower than the rancher's 695.
Packer vs logger heel, either is fine but taller heel can be shortened later and the Frank's boot maker said taller heels are better for walking in. And being 10" instead of 8", sure.
Fits my needs without being a custom order, and the red dog leather seemed fine. I don't like it so much anymore. British tan or tobacco would have been better.

I am not putting the pouch pocket on. That thing is dumb.
