Is wearing a safari jacket as a 20 year old too much of a LARP?

It's literally impossible to wear pants with a full rise without a jacket in the current year as a man without either looking like a nerd or a fag (depending on the rest of your outfit and your face, body and mannerisms). That's one whole season I can't wear my creased, double-pleated, wide-legged, full-rise chinos. What's a nice jacket I can wear in summer that would look good with that, a shirt with the collar unbuttoned, and a pair of loafers? So far I'm thinking of a safari jacket or something (I'm 20 so a sport coat would just look silly).
