might as well repost this in case anyone is curious about yuketen's made in canada johnson boots

these are mine

they're made by Dayton, and they run not quite a full size large. Compared to my Alden Indy boots, they're a bit smaller, and much slimmer through the instep -- I had to replace my laces because the ones included weren't long enough, and I'm hoping that with time the quarters will stretch, because I can't lace them very tightly right now; I have a slightly higher instep than the average foot.

The leather feels nice, but it has a tendency to crease in a way that isn't very sightly. Still, I can't knock the quality of these, they seem pretty good for what I paid.

I'm by no means a professional footwear analyst, so I may not have covered any of the important questions. If anyone has any specific questions or wants to see photos from different angles, I'll oblige them.

not all that recent, but I haven't posted them in any thread like this yet. they're yuketen, made in canada (by Dayton), got them 50% off.

When I lace them up to wear them I can't lace them this closely; they're pretty tight through the instep, and I have a higher than average instep. As far as comfort goes the fit is perfect, but I wish they'd lace up tighter, for looks

I'm trying to lace them extra tight when I wear them to see if I can stretch the quarters ever so slightly. I'm not sure whether it will work. the leather is thick enough that it seems possible, but I'm no expert.

I had to replace the laces because they were really short. but it's hard to find flat waxed laces that aren't low-quality. These ones are not as finely woven or soft, and the aglets look cheap. for the most part, people just don't notice things like that, so I'm using them anyway
