Thanks. Sorry to hear about /lit/. I'm more of an anime/film guy, and while /a/ is still fairly good, /tv/ has never been good. It feels good to geek out about cyberpunk here.

I'm sorry but I just can't let go this Gibson praising, and while I understand your intentions, I your reasoning is way off. Gibson's job as a writer was to communicate his intricate vision into words, and if he delivered the content too stylishly, that's not a good thing. That's not poetry. Frankly, if you strip Neuromancer down to what made it good, you're left with the rather blunt descriptions of window dressings. Give it up or I'll be forced to go on at length about how the noir atmosphere is cliched and dated, ect.

So this post isn't incredibly negative I'm gonna recommend some hyper violent cyberpunk anime OVAs. There's tons more but these are just off the top of my head and if you like GitS 1995 check these out.
