I think it's a good design but look at real pictures and videos because it's glossy and that might not be what you're expecting. If you do buy it I think the price is a bit high so check ebay for open box models. There is also the matte black model which is cheaper but the top part of the bezel is a bit reflective and scratches easy. I don't think you can go wrong if you know what to expect, they are heavy steel watches at 167g.

I get the appeal of the GW-5000. Physically it is the best G-Shock but it falls apart at the module. The best square module is the 3489/3461 and for schizos I think the basic 3229 is second. For my money the anniversary models (DW-50XX) are better than the GW-5000 since they are physically similar but with the basic superior module. For regular releases the metal GMW-B5000s made the GW-5000 obsolete.
