don't by a pack without having seen it irl first.
pay attention to the material (pleather is a no go, it's gonna age really bad) stitching and hardware.
the devil is in the details and pictures can be deceptive.

got this one on sale (kelty cycle hiker), unstiched the kelty label and it looks better now. great quality. fuckin love it, never see it on anybody else, get complimented on it every time
