2008 fag here. If you think 4chan was political in the slightest back in the day, you're pretty much wrong.
Everything done in 4chans or /b/ or ebaums name was pretty much for laughs, for the lulz. Pools closed was just to have fun with people, Nazi imagery and racist slurs was just because it's a real fucking easy way to get a reaction out of people. Calling into christian call shows to recite the lyrics of bel air or tell them to suck a dick. It was all crude jokes to get a reaction.
(sure there was the rare hardcore nazi, commie, anarchist, christfag, but they were usually far and few between. Politics wasnt that feverishly discussed back then as it as now, a biproduct of A, the usebase getting older and B a large influx of poltically and ideology driven users)
The whole anonymous things wasnt some political stance or movement. It was a couple of 14-19 year olds on /b/ trying to get a rise out of people and flip the finger to the people who thought they could run all over them, mainly scientology, Tom Cruise and their lawyers.

Nope, it became the dominate ideology because 4chan was flooded between 2015 - 2017 with far right wing trump fucktards, alt-righters and everybody else right of republicans who bought into the leftist notion that 4chan was some haven for far right ideology based off the crude racist language and imagery, which they used for laughs and reations, but left being who they are, took at face value. (kekistan, wojak and all that shit)

It was the same thing with Anonymous and this place was flooded with self rightous protester types and pedoes all the way back since pedobear, thinking 4chan was some pedo haven.

So fuck off with the whole "National Socialism won" because it was better, it won because far righters saw a crudely spray painted swastika on the door and and heard a muffled "jews in the oven" joke and took it as a invitation.
