I like that the Blucher's felt a bit more secure with the extra lacing. Probably get a pair of Boat Shoes before I get a pair of camp mocs if I was going that direction.

You're exactly right. If you want to prep it up, you can go seersucker, critter, madras or patchwork madras for the shorts. Make sure to get some nantucket reds.

Dock shorts for more casual attire.

9" inseam is the absolute longest your shorts should be, and that is only if you are 6'+.

I'm thinking about copping these corduroy shorts from Brooks Brothers in oatmeal.

Brooks Brothers has good basic canvas sneakers. J Crew has a good collection as well.
