It's like with anime figurine or funko pop collector söys. Just another hobby where they can throw their money at.
They lack personality so they try as hard as they can to latch onto something. But since these "people" have a damaged psyche, they have little control and just overdo it like with everything. A bit of autism is also a big driver for that.
Most of them have also this silly elitism after throwing away loads of money. They think they are now worth something and can talk like a big boy.

The weaker a mans psyche, the bigger beta he was, the bigger the complexes they develop. It's like giving suddenly power to some total bitch and he can't handle it at all.
