The city itself has some great architectural gems and a pretty cool downtown area. The people however are often pretty trashy looking and most often are dressed in clothing with their preferred loser sports team on it. The 20 or so colleges and universities (one of them the flagship of the SUNY system) all around the city bring people who would otherwise never have any reason to come here, and often the best dressed people are the Chinese exchange students.
