Pomade is probably the worst thing you can do for that hair type (I have the same).

Use pic related and see how you get on.

>Towel dry hair after shower, or lightly blow dry on medium heat/fast speed
>When hair is dry, saturate top in sea salt spray, leave for a few minutes, blow dry again, dont worry about how it's sitting yeg
>Hit the roots with a few blasts of the texturising spray, don't use too much as it dries the hair and scalp, shape with fingers
>Use a tiny amount of the fibre putty to shape it how you want it, I'd recommend slicking it back a bit to define it

Optional - cement that shog in place with a light hairspray.
