Same goes for women of all stripes wearing straps of clothing from Fashionnova or Dynamite in an estrogen fueled arms-race to be the first of their girlfriends to end up puking in a King Street alleyway.
The more affluent tryhards suffer from the cognitive dissonance of trying to be above it all while still caring so very much about showing up their peers. You can tell by listening to people prattle on about being carefree and dressing only for their own expression and then neurotically retreating to social media to see what'll relieve them of the most ridicule from 6ixbuzz or whatever the normalfag equivalent of /b/ is. Just take a look at how quickly things like Chelsea boots cycled through.
And there are actual nignogs but that's whatever. They dress the same from Compton to Copenhagen and it's rarely as offensive as delusional and horny plebs who should know better. The Chinese international students get a lot of shit from everyone but at some point, you see the same Uniqlo+Balenciaga outfits under the same Canada Goose parkas so many times it stops bothering you.
The art-kids and local middle-class are fine though. They actually take advantage of the unique opportunities of the city and experiment with vintage pieces, exotic silhouettes and mixing /out/gear with streetwear.
