Dear god this is terrible advice. BO is caused by bacteria waste products. Deodorant is meant to prevent bacteria growth. Antiperspirant is always shit and should be avoided at all costs unless you're some kind of spaghetti dropping sweaty mess.

You want an unscented deodorant, ideally a crystal deodorant like pic related. The crystal is a salt that inhibits bacteria growth. You moisten it and rub into your armpits. No bacteria = no bacteria waste = no stink. You can then apply the fragrance of your choice without worrying about conflicting smells or stink.
