I don't see why you're trying to use "faggot" as pejorative on a fashion board, I see that as nothing but a compliment.

The Visvim lookbook really do offer some fantastic fit, Sune who models for Tres Bien also shows off some fantastic fits for taller guys as he's 6"2

As for first purchases, I only own one piece of Visvim at the moment, but it's the same style I'd recommend to you: a pair of boots. A good pair of Visvim goodyear welted boots are fantastic value for money and will last you an inordinate amount of time. Outerwear is a great bet as well, especially a kilgore or a 101 jacket. Happy travels!

Keep an eye out

>Is there a visual archive of the brand any place?
Turnleft asked the same question, and the sad answer is, no. Nobody has scanned the 10 year retrospective (to my knowledge), and the early dissertations for each year never really pop up on the bay that much :(
You can gleam a lot from various interviews and stuff on the internet though, and text articles as well. I really wanted a copy of the latest issue of the New Order because it had a huge write-up on Visvim but it sold out really fast, and the shipping from europe where it's in stock is like twice the price of the magazine

Wait, I think I know what book you're talking about, 90% it was in the superfuture technical wear thread

Also, just a couple more caveats because I was at about 2000 words there.
I like how Hiroki is committed to creating a product that has some sense of individuality - you might see small blemishes on the leather - simply because there isn't a whole lot of treatment, and most treatment is organic vegetable dying, and furthermore, Hiroki likes maximizing the use of any hides, despite some minor superficial flaws, as long as they aren't of insufficient quality for manufacturing. Almost every pair of visvim footwear comes out different in a way.
Also I find his committal to trying to use organic, environmentally friendly methods of dying, tanning, and sourcing materials interesting, but I'm sure in this day and age not everyone cares about the environmental impact of their products.
Oh, and while I touched on it, he's always looking to exploit new, forward thinking avenues for production, and utilizing classic, work intensive methods such as Goodyear welting in order to make the best possible products
And a lot of people complain about the price, and while it is definitely more expensive than most of it's streetwear contemporaries, Visvim inarguably provides a much better, higher quality product that is worth the price.
