BPD is NOT a disorder you want to have. If I ever meet someone who turns out to be actually diagnosed borderline, I distance myself ASAP. BPD doesn't only ruin the lives of those with it, it ruins the lives of everyone around them. I've had to watch my grandmother really seriously psychologically abuse my mom and everyone else in her life for 20 years. I've seen her threaten to poison herself at family reunions for attention. I've watched her tell my younger sisters that she'll "lose the will to live" if they don't regularly keep in contact with her. Regardless of whether or not they have a disorder or not, regardless of how much sympathy you have, they are abusive and manipulative people. It isn't cute or mysterious. It gives people an actual factual reason to discriminate against you and avoid contact with you
