Yea I mean for all the big talk, I've never fucked with fakes and probably won't ever. There's no reason for anyone to 2bh, even if you're poorfag, great clothes can be found thrifting. Replicas are for tasteless posers.

Using fashion to join a tribe and make friends is as criminal as using it to make money, imo wearing clothes is an art in the same way as producing it, though probably more closer to curation.

Another facet is military replicas (opposed to surplus). I'm not that familar with mil scene but I think it's pretty common practice
