I understand the argument for wearing all black: it's symmetrical, it blends with the environment, it's very subdued, and it helps to attract heat in winter. However, I dislike the abuse of black or monochrome because it converts said color into something alien. We live our lives among natural beauty, not just one nice-looking pastel or dark color that complements your skin or some other apparel. Your clothing should reflect your personality, yes, but I think it should also reflect the colors of the environment. That is my philosophy in dressing: we originated from the Earth, so we should keep it with us.

And, wow, now that I've measured myself with a tape, I realize that I *have* gained weight over the past year:

All of these measures were either exact or near exact (for hips, I rounded up an eighth of an inch)
