I did solve my lace problem by buying some direct from oak street bootmakers. still need proper taslan laces for the bean boots, the ones on them are really terrible

also, need to get some white leather laces for the quoddy, I mean I'm never going to get anything else to work with white fucking eyelets. good thing I paid so little for them

my plans for future purchases include getting a pair of russell moccasin fishing oxfords and then I'm setting my sights on tricker's or alden

maybe a pair of proper sneakers someday but it might have to wait. My ambition is much bigger than my budget.

Really wish I had more than just these, but here's where things are at so far. Some of these are from before I really figured out what I wanted in shoes, so I'm not really proud of 'em but I do wear them when it makes sense to.

4 was my first real pair of boots, I'd received a bunch of Land's End clothes I didn't care for, and I had been sort of looking at Oak St. online and thinking "if only"; well by some miracle Land's End was stocking Oak St. Bootmakers, so I returned everything for a store credit and bought them.

5 were a curiosity buy off ebay for 40 bucks, it's the original Quoddy (Quoddy now is a different company that took up the name) from like the 70s/80s and I got them on impulse even though they're kinda ugly. Those laces on them are really awful dry replacement ones that I wasted money on, but the old ratty white ones that came with them had to be cut to be removed, so I have nothing good for them for now.

6 & 7 are sharing the same pair of laces until I can find a way to buy good rawhide laces, 6 came with ugly dark red teslan laces

9 are also in need of some real boot laces, gonna order some teslan laces soon

1, 2, 6, 10 and 11 were all bought on sale

I held onto 13 because they're super comfy, and not the ugliest boat shoe Sperry ever made. I want to get some normal rawhide laces on them, I think that would look better.
