odd example but i see the point. wouldn't even speak against it but the flashiness and excentric stuff comes out of the background, just like african warlord memes have flashy clothes, but beside status and looks in context of that (back to greyman here) it's captured, stolen or usefull stuff, not only by being in a life threatenong environment limiting your range of acces to clothes anyway, and you wouldn't see general whoever in heels or anything 'flashy' the like getting in the way of fighting, working or surviving. you have a range of that, definitely, but it's by no means a core aspect
