that's caused by the fitting of the ribbed hem, being smaller than your bum and deciding to climb up it when you sit or lift your arms

everything, the depth of the crotch is the only real similarity. rick handled the gusseting differently.

the pants you posted are the same for men and women, the women's are just graded down in size a little bit.

men's pants have deeper crotch curves but flatter seat curves and significantly less hip flare, which will cause fit issues on many women unless they're worn oversized. but plenty of women do wear men's pants, i used to work retail and sold to women all the time and plenty of them got great fits out of menswear. it's not really easy to predict, because there will be more variance between any two individuals than between large demographic groups.

most designers create blocks, which are basic patterns to which elements are added or subtracted to create new designs. that's very economical and it helps ensure consistency of fit, but sometimes it results in just what you described, where it feels like the detailing is an afterthought. because it totally was. and it's kind of obnoxious when you go through a line and realize that all the jackets are the same pattern with different lapels.

i noticed the lotus skorts are cut differently, seem to come in a larger and smaller version on mainline and the drkshdw uses the larger pattern. also it's pretty common for a mainline garment to become a staple under drkshdw in a cheaper fabrication. sometimes they become staples on mainline too tho.
