isnt 50% of what /fa/ wears out of the ordinary? high fashion designers dont want to be ordinary but create something new, so it natural followers are the same (except rick). at the moment i dress in lolita, but i try to be as subtle with it as i can because most people find the style "retarded" even though i am pretty confident with what i wear, otherwise i dont wear it. would a style like lolita be regarded as "retarded" no matter what because of its elements? lolita can never be /fa/? or only high fashion counts as /fa/?
