As you wish. It's dress watch focused but covers everything except "sportswatch".

There are plenty of "good" watches under 500 let alone 5k,. Hell there are plenty of good watches under 50.

If you wear a watch to be "respectable" or "project a tough guy image" without being respectable or something of a tough guy, the watch is going to do very little to help.

That said, watches are situational, and somewhat aspirational (and not just monetarily). You want to climb a mountain? An rolex explorer or a seiko Alpinist both speak to that. You want to fly a plane? A Navitimer and a Citizen nitehawk both speak to that. You want to be a a businessman? A calatrava and a 50s Longines both speak to that. You can be a traveler with a 200usd Seiko GMT or a 10000 dollar Rolex GMT.

The watch should be enhancing the trait you somewhat possess and already somewhat project. Strapping on a watch, any watch, doesn't work unless you already somewhat embody what the watch is there to enhance. Watches can be a costume like anything else.

I have a brand new 7500usd Speedmaster, and my most worn watch before that is a 30 dollar Casio Worldtimer. 99% of people will not notice or care about your watch, so pay attention to how wearing it makes you feel.
