I'll always consider THE DARK EMPIRE Trilogy the canon Episode 7/8/ & 9

Plus the story is MUCH better
Luke becomes a sith so he can learn all faucets of the force and not to blindly fear the dark side, and can become a full fledged all rounded grey jedi, and finds out the emperor still loves and that he and Vader only killed a clone, and the emperor is the one that trains Luke and it's very interesting to say the least
