Help me out here boys. Been growing out what used to be an undercut because I've never grown my hair out before. The top is finally long enough that I can do a proper slick back (not pictured) but due to my extremely thick hair the sides stay really poofy. I'd like to keep growing out the top but I'm unsure what to do with the sides at this point. Do I cut them down a bit so it looks a bit cleaner near the ears and neck or should I let it keep going. My girlfriend says she like long hair and doesn't want me to cut the top and I don't really want to either. Are there any good styles for hair this length? I've also kept a shitty beard thing going because my face looks fat without it and it balances out the giant afro on my head. Just gimme any tips or ideas of what to do with it.
