The Monaco was originally a movie prop for McQueen's movie "Lemans," and six copies were made for him to wear during the movie production. McQueen's favorite watch at the time was his personal Rolex Sub 5512 that he wore daily, and it can be seen in part the movie as well.
There's nothing wrong with liking the Monaco, but if you want one because of it's connection to McQueen then keep in mind that it was never a watch he wore in real life.
