I really don't care if my shoes are made by machines or not

My Carminas are made by machines and the area where the upper meets the welt always looks sloppy
My TLBs are also made by machines and I have never spotted even the tiniest of flaws on them
My Bonafes are "handwelted" but I doubt the outsole stitching is done by hand, it's still extremely tight and flawless.

In my book:

Oxfords are to be worn with a suit only.
Suede oxfords, loafers, NST derbies, balmoral boots are more 'business casual' but definitely not for jeans.
PTBs, plain toe derbies (at least 4 eyelets), chelseas, chukkas, dress boots, boat shoes can be jeans territory but not these sloppy baggy fits.
Sneakers, service boots, engineers and the like are strictly casual territory. Jeans, chinos, maybe cords and that's it.

I could be wrong

TLB didn't clone Carmina's lasts, they only have like 4 lasts which are all identical except for the front part which changes to chiseled/round etc. Carmina has like 25 lasts which are all different to each other in every area.

TLB has better finish, better stitching, very narrow waists beveled by hand, real leather heel stiffeners instead of celastic etc. Overall for a dress shoe they are far better.

Carmina heels sit just a bit tighter on the heel block, and their shoes with no eyelets at least have blind eyelets (on the inside). That's the only advantage they have in terms of build and finish.
But Carmina has at least 10 times more options for leathers, models, lasts, colours etc.

The other huge advantage of TLB is that you can place an MTO and in 2 weeks it's ready. With Carmina it's like 5 months.
