are ppl really that bothered by a tick like it's the end of the world or a complete deal breaker rather than a sweep?

I get enjoying the novelty of the sweep but some people be acting like if it doesn't have a sweep then the watch is borderline unwearable and hurts your wrist doing so or something.

what's the deal? is everyone pretending because they read it somewhere online that you are supposed to prefer mechanical and want to seem like some sort of watch patrician?

why should one go for an automatic watch over a quartz one?

when I first started looking into watches everyone's selling point for autos was that you never need a battery

why do people make such a big deal out of an automatic when you need to get it serviced every few years anyways to keep it decent. isn't it basically the same shit as just switching the battery every few years?
