Anyone else just extremely bored of the watch industry?

Everything is so bland and safe. It's like every company is modelling themselves on Daniel Wellington(decision wise). Everything is just the same minimalistic rehash. They just offer a few dozen "iconic" models everyone and their dog has seen a million times before. Microbrands don't do anything crazy they just repeat the minimalist "disruptor" model. Not to mention the prices are ridiculous. I just saw a hamilton model going for $1600 when it was $400 in 2014. Even preowned has gone crazy. Too many normies (non enthusiasts) just buying shit up for a profit motive. They buy to speculate not buy to enjoy or collect. Now vintage junk is also 5x the previous price. Social media and brands too intertwined WIS culture is now cringe because memes are appropriated by corporate (like speedy tuesday or whatever)

Boring boring boring.

>worn by James Bond
Bond (a fictional character) always famously wore a Rolex, Rolex was very successful on the back of this association ("I'll buy a Rolex, I'll be like James Bond!"), then Omega's marketing department saw its chance in 1995 and paid the big bucks (because modern Bond films are soulless husks that revolve around marketing various products) to make sure that Bond wore an Omega. They even went so far as to make the script explicitly mention that Bond no longer wore a Rolex but an Omega in 2006's Casino Royale.
Fuck Rolex, but fuck Omega more when it comes to Bond. He's worn several Seikos too, but who cares.

>Martin learned the power behind clothing. He was beaten for accidentally ripping a Nazis shirt. After getting beaten by the Nazi he later had stolen the shirt that he had accidentally tore. Martin’s first tailoring session started with the shirt that he repaired. Once it was repaired he wore it under his uniform all throughout his time working at concentration camps. Wearing the shirt made him realize that clothes possess power, this became an inspiration to Martin and helped him survive the Holocaust.

haven't bought anything instore in years besides groceries.

man, wtf, I remembered why now. why do shop people (or I'm guessing more so their higher ups) think that hovering and being annoying is a good shopping experience? who even likes that shit?

just a simple "hello" when you come in, maybe an initial "hey did you need a hand?" or "looking for something in particular?", "ok cool just let me know if you need anything" and being available when needed is more than enough.

why do they think it's appropriate to hover around, try to strike up convos about what you were up to today or blatantly push things onto you which just makes you feel like they are just trying to swindle you and want to leave.

literally was trying on a pair of pants and as soon as I turned the lock in the change room dude was already yelling out asking how they fit.

Why is this board so slow when there's so much fashion out there and fashion is arguably the most interesting board? Why are you all so boring?
