tip for applying shine pomade or regular pomade:

after you shower, or when your hair is damp, slightly towel dried, apply pomade starting from the front of the hair working backwards with fingertips. Use a comb to work the pomade backwards, from the root to the tip of the hair and allow it to air dry combed back. this will apply the pomade across the entire strand of the hair and avoid having it concentrated at roots or tips.

avoid using a blow dryer here

when the hair has dried or is only very very slightly damp, run your finger tips through your hair, using your fingers almost as a pick to bring volume.
