Brown oxfords are extremely versatile, either in leather or suede. If you want them less formal, go with quarter/semi brogue, if you want them really formal go with wholecuts.

Also, what's your budget? Please consider spending at the very least ~200€, because if you don't, you'll end up with pure shit.

Also think about buying two pairs that you can rotate between. It'll make them last longer and you'll have two pairs of shoes that you can wear - if you give them the right attention and care - for 10-20 years. If you divide the cost of "expensive shoes" by 10/20, the price you pay/year isn't really that bad, so there shouldn't be anything from stopping you from investing in a pair of quality shoes.
