Get a 100% cotton yupoong 6245cm for about $12 shipped on ebay, its the same company that makes flexfit.
Most expensive designer dad hats are completely generic in terms of materials and construction. There are occasional exceptions, stone island makes some that use a fabric that's got metal fibres in it, vailance has a nice welded hat made out of goretex pro. But most of them are a total waste unless you are just buying it for the logo.
