Maybe it's because I'm older than the average /fa/g but I've really enjoyed a kind of Jeff Bridges method the last few years. Hair is layered and long-ish but rarely goes beyond the collar. Pair that up with a well trimmed beard and you've got a look that can pass for either well groomed or loose and casual depending on the situation. But then I also unashamedly rock an anachronistic 70s/early 80s style so if you're trying to be cutting edge and contemporary it might not be for you.
