several reasons. despite being Seikos they are produced and made in Malaysia. Another important reason is that they are entirely self-winding and have no additional option to handwind them via crown. you can only shake them to wind them. that's not necessarily bad bu that's part of the reason why they are cheaper since that normally essential feature is missing. also they have shitty water resistance. only 30m I think.

another reason might be that these watches have been around for a bit longer than everybody thinks. I've also seen that there other models like SNKH69, 63, etc. who happen to have differently shaped hands. I'm not exactly sure but I think those have been around for much longer. Been a while with the SNK8xx models as well so their price drops naturally. But it varies. On amazon the price for these constantly jumps up and down.
