>RIGHT NOW post the watch you're saving up for/thinking of buying in the medium-term future
pic reltated. But I'm unsure if I can pull it off as a wristlet and I already got two divers (but two Vostoks, so I'd like to have a different styled option).
What I kinda wanna do is a
>one of each
shitter collection. What I got so far:
>diver
2 identical Vostoks! (so maybe, another, more modern and/or western style would sitll fit that collection)
>chrono
Strela. So I'm set there, every other option is a ST19 anyways
>dress watch
Some golden (or rather, gold plated, if even that) old as fuck Junghans from my grandpa (or maybe even great grandpa, no one really knows who bought that one) and a blueish-black 80's cushion case thing from my dad, but it has day-date, so it's a bit on the casual side, but who cares. Maybe something with small seconds would fit in the collection
>digital
G-shock G 100, looking at a ProTrek right now, don't really need anything more. Some hipster vintage one could be nice, but not really needed. And if so, a Osama or Royale is so cheap, I needn't think about it, should I need it
>Flieger
That's still missing from my collection.
>Slide rule
Also missing. Really hard to find a cheap one that's not the ultra-busy citizen diner plate
>grande complication
Yeah, no.
>Tourboullion
Heh…

Tempting, but sold out…
But I think you can still get the dials as parts, so I'm tempted to just try modding it myself. But not sure what fits what. If its for a NH35, does that mean it'll fitt all watches with that movement?>>15337428

Truly the best looking Rolex, but I don't wanna wear a Rolex homage. Just too obvious.
Kinda like this, but I'm worried it'll be too big.

Are you the faggot that was whining about that totally-not-a-drugdealer anon that wouldn't just gift you a 10k watch?
dude, seek help!
You're just making yourself miserable for no good reason at all.

>Do you have a dirty secret watchfags would shun?
I'm totally attracted to cheap (mechanical) shitters. I'm always on the fence on pulling the trigger on shit like pic related or more Amphibias. In fact, I don't even own many non-shitter watches (or none, depending on your definition of sitter) and don't really aim for changing that.

True.
Hard working folks don't even know how hard our life is. Really stressed out right now. I mean, look at pic related. Since about 4 months, I contemplating whether I should buy it or not. I can't get it out of my mind, but I also can't pull the trigger. Loosing sleep, getting grey hairs, can't function.
It's hell.

interesting.
I think they chines have quite the thing for names that supposedly mean something and whatnot. I think a lot of western brands are called something that sounds similar to the original, but is some actual chinese words that mean something different, but somewhat connected to the thing.
Anyone knows some search terms for that? There must be a few interesting articles out there for this, I remember reading a few, but can't find them.
Pic unrelated. A chinese "brand" that kinda makes sense and is not funny sounding.

Yeah, that's the link I posted >>15187837, but it seems like they don't do images. And I did indeed hear good things about them (and steeldive too, for ~$50 less). WAtches like that seem cheap enough to go for a tacky joke, yet decent enough to actually use that joke for a few years.
Besides the print issue, does anyone else have any experiences with San Martin or Steeldive or the other, mid priced AliExpress homages?

One of the few OG >muh history divers where the current version also looks fine, IMHO.
>>15153380
I kinda like them, but They're a bit out of place on a vintage(style) watch. Much better on something like pic related (though technically, also vintage styled, but at least not 50s vintage). How old/modern are isofranes anyways?
>>15153426
Also wondering about this. I mean, if it's not a sub clone, no one IRL will even notice, and it's not like you can simply buy the original and wear it as a daily driver, so ethically speaking, I'd say it's OK, but it still feels kinda weird. And then there's the issue of quality. The steeldive you posted (also >>15153330) always have fantastic reviews on aliexpress, but well, aliexpress reviews…

>You also have aliexpress """"homage""" watches to pick from if you dont mind that. You can get a all gold/half gold submariner homage for $50-$100 lol, and the quality isnt really as bad as you'd think.
Speaking from experience?
Not really interested in the sub, but there's some other classic divers that are priced way beyond what a toolwatch should be, so I'm tempted to try a homage. For stuff beyond the sub, 'steeldive' often shows up, between $100 and $100.
Are they any good?
I think they are NH35 movements, so that should be good enough, and finishing in the reviews always looks quite good, but I'm worried about the water resistance. I'm sure as hell not going to take them diving, but I'd like to go swimming with them, possible some DWS, so they'd get some quite heavy splashes and "dives" down to 6m or so.
