+1 for shopping 2nd hand stores. maybe not a dedicated antique reseller who have to buy and make profits but a place that works off donations.

I work for a Christian thrift store and we often get good stuff. (get donations)

location usually affect price. I work in a more low socioeconomic area and we sell decent stuff for a lot less than the gentrified hipster/trendy areas.

where we might sell a couch like this for $200, some areas can get triple or quadruple that easily. and often if a regular person were to just resell it themself they can get $1000 or 2 for it.
