Oh but people will care so much when they see your watch says Seiko and not Skagen, right? No, actually no one is impressed by either brand and there is no practical difference.

One looks good and keeps quartz time. One looks like shit and keeps low end mechanical time.

If you can find a quartz watch by Orient or Seiko or Citizen that looks good, then by all means go for it. There certainly are a handful of ok looking ones. Problem is most of them make me want to stab my eyes out with chopsticks.
