Whites and Nicks make good boots but they are chunky and fat
Viberg or Alden (both more expensive) make boots that look more like those Thursdays

Matte leathers go by different names, it could be roughout or waxed suede or roughout suede or waxy commander, depends on the brand.
But not all smooth leathers have to be shiny, I have boots in brown CXL and they are not shiny. CXL is not really made for shining anyway.
