The reason these brands went from Negro are because they are relatively inexpensive. Just look for euro brands like Our Legacy, Barbour, Drake's, North Projects, Margaret Howell, Paul Smith, Lemaire etc. Some american brands have survived, such as LL Bean, Gitman Vintage, Brooks Brothers (to a certain degree) etc.

I've owned three and never bought one new. I'd recommend buying one used as you'll save loads and can get ones with that have a bit of a patina if you arent into the shiny newly waxed look.
The only real risk is getting one that's really ancient and smells really bad. In that case you can look up how to wash it. Personally i've never had that happen.
