I liked what they were TRYING to be. If they were older and had a more mature and refined aesthetic and direction I would have loved them. As young guys making a young guy band, I would say some of it was cool. Nero Bellum's atmospheric solo project is really it for me and it's what I always wished Psyclon 9 was from the very beginning.

This whole scene is definitely not something I think most people are not going to want to go back to. I think one of the big reasons it existed was because how back then mental illness was not taken seriously at all and LGBT and gender non-conforming people were treated like absolute dog shit. Nowadays LGBT people and so on have online support groups and mental illness isn't something taboo to talk about and there is more information on how to manage it. This whole scene was like the pit of darkness for those who were cast out by society and honestly was pretty miserable.

I think plenty of people would be happy to put on some purple lipstick and black skinny PVC pants though with some boots. It's awesome.
